Halfway to Somewhere

I believe in Calvin and Hobbes, rainy days, and simplicity. I also love Yellowcard. A lot.

Anonymous asked: what's your favourite song by yellowcard ?

wow this is a really difficult question… I have a few, but for some specific reasons I guess (which I feel entirely compelled to write here because they’re my favorite band ever).

For You and Your Denial - I’m a violinist and I love the violin riff at the beginning, it’s awesome. I also love this song because the lyrics are SO powerful. There aren’t any swears or harsh language, but the words chosen still do an amazing job of getting the tone and meaning across.

Only One - This is my inspiration song. I think about the chorus when I’m on the line for a 400 (running track), and it literally fills me with adrenaline.

How I Go - This song is beautiful. The orchestration, the lyrics. And it’s based on a movie (or book?) that I really enjoyed. I absolutely LOVE the vocal harmonies as well.

Words, Hands, Hearts - The bridge or whatever part of the song at 3:46. I love it. This song.

Hang You Up (the original/Big If version) - Because I can relate and it’s sad and comforting and beautiful and simple all at once.

With You Around - It’s a feel good song. I literally cannot help but smile when I hear it. It brings nostalgia and memories of summer sunsets and the warm breeze of an evening adventure. And it’s energetic, sweet, and a little sad and I love that.

what’s your favorite?
